WORLD RECORD! Jay-Jay Okocha Still Holds Incredible FIFA World Cup Dribbling Record

Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha continues to make history years after retirement as he still holds the record for the most successful dribbles completed in a single FIFA World Cup match.

According to FIFA statistics, the Nigerian football icon completed an astonishing 15 successful dribbles during Nigeria’s famous clash against Italy at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States — a record no player has been able to break till today.

Okocha’s stunning display places him ahead of some of football’s greatest names including Diego Maradona, Johan Cruyff, Eusébio, Jairzinho and Paul Gascoigne, all of whom recorded fewer dribbles in a single World Cup game.

FIFA records also show that Lionel Messi currently holds the highest number of take-ons in World Cup history with 125, while Maradona remains the player with the most successful take-ons in a single tournament after recording 53 during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico.

Known for his flair, street-style football and unbelievable ball control, Okocha’s unforgettable performance against Italy remains one of the greatest individual displays ever seen on football’s biggest stage. This is something Nigerians should be proud of. What do you think ?
